Lib Dem hopeful starts 'phonecasting'8.37.30pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 22nd Oct 2009
Liberal Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate for Plymouth Moor View Stuart Bonar is giving residents the chance to hear directly from him after starting to 'phonecast' - posting audio messages to the internet from his mobile. His first phonecast, posted to the internet this evening, is about unemployment in Plymouth and how the Lib Dems would help to nurse the economy back to health. You can find his recordings online at http://www.ipadio.com/phlogs/StuartBonar/ This is the latest way in which Stuart is helping to communicate with local people. He also tweets, at http://twitter.com/stuartbonar and blogs at http://stuartbonar.typepad.com/ ... as well, of course, as delivering leaflets, knocking on doors, and speaking at local meetings! Commenting, he said, "We are living in grim economic times. People are losing their jobs, and in the next few years difficult decisions are going to have to be made about what the Government spends its money on and how it funds what it does. In these times, people need to know what the different political parties are saying. That's why I want to communicate with local people in as many different ways as I can. I want them to know what the Liberal Democrats stand for, and what we offer the people of Britain."
